Under the Tuscan Sun in Siena

For the past 12 years, I have been day dreaming and talking about one of my most favourite life experiences. The experience that probably planted a travel bug in me and made me tell every single university student to do the same. 12 years ago I decided to join a student exchange program and study Tuscan architecture in Siena, Italy. I had the most amazing time and met the most awesome friends because of that decision. Fast forward 12 years…… I’M BACK!!! For 2 days, but I’m back! Continue reading “Under the Tuscan Sun in Siena”

Missing London

I love London! As a kid I was lucky enough to visit London every Summer with my family and since then I have formed this sense of belonging whenever I go back for a visit. I alway seem to be the one who tells people “No, it doesn’t always rain there!” or “It’s not boring there!“. I actually think depending on which part of London you happen to spend time in, anyone with any interest can find something to do. From 5 stars to budget travel, young to old, art loving history buffs to a foodies; there’s something for everyone. Continue reading “Missing London”

Day Dreaming About Scandinavia

It was last year around this time that I got a chance to attend the Cool Nordic event in downtown Toronto. An event held by all the Nordic countries to bring forward the best of the best from Scandinavian countries. One of the most things I enjoyed about my experience was learning about how all of these countries follow the “less is more” way of thinking. Architecture, design and fashion all seem to follow the same thought process but they are so intriguing. Since that time, I’ve been randomly Google searching, Pinteresting and reading up on the Scandinavian countries and all I have to say is, there’s more to them than Volvo, H&M and Ikea and…. I REALLY WANT TO GO THERE!!! Badly!!

Here is a little taste of Scandinavia….. Continue reading “Day Dreaming About Scandinavia”

Sun, Ocean and Fun in Sunny San Diego

A few weeks ago I visited Sunny San Diego to visit my family and it was a great short get away from the Polar Vortex up here in Canada. Although I was SUPER excited for the trip I spent a ridiculous amount of time to pack for 18 to 25 degree weather. I am out of practice, it’s been 6 months since I wore less than 5 layers and no parka jackets. But enough about my wardrobe problems….

Sectional Globe by Geo-Grafia

I have been keeping an eye on these awesome globes from Geo-grafia for a while now and I finally gave in and bought one from my local bookstore. Designed by Yusuke Hayashi and Yoko Yasunishi of Drill Design; it is amazing to see the level of detail and thought that has gone to making these globes. Being a fan of traveling and geography I chose to go with the BLANK globe so I can have a visual journal of all the places I have been. There are so many other kinds of globes, glow in the dark and material (wood, metal and leather!).
