Have you guys ever heard of Alsace. I never knew what/where and who it was till I had lunch at the cutest little restaurant on Baldwin village. Elle M’a Dit is Toronto’s first Alsatian restaurant and is a brain child of chef Gregory Furstoss and his wife Tory Yang.
Going through the lunch menu there are lots of hints to the Franco-German influence, everything sounded so delicious. The restaurant itself was so adorable, simple yet so welcoming. I loved how the inside of Elle M’a Dit complemented it’s location on Baldwin street, a very European feel. Continue reading “Elle M’a Dit….FoodbySaje”
Few weeks ago we celebrated Xp’s birthday at ViVetha Bistro in the beaches area of Toronto. We heard about this little gem from our friend, the human Urban Spoon, who always picks the best places to eat both in the GTA and everywhere else.
ViVetha features typical European Bistro menu, designed by executive chef and owner Siva Thambinathan. I for one enjoyed the items on the menu and was having a hard time picking one dish to order. They all sounded so delicious. After much debate at the table we all decided on what we wanted and here are our selections.
On our day trip to Kingston to tour the beautiful 1000 Islands on the St Lawrence river we decided to check out a great little Italian place in the city. I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality and the service we received at the Olivea Restaurant/Trattoria.
We ordered mostly off their special filled with omelettes and eggs benedict. They were all so tasty and fresh. The best thing we ordered from the menu for our appetizer was the Olivea bruschetta ($9) filled with yummy tomatoes, capers, artichoke and feta cheese. TOO DIE FOR!! If you ever happen to visit Kingston or you live there make sure you visit Olivea Restaurant.
I love Winter/Summerlicious time in Toronto. Gives everyone a chance to find new restaurants and sample their great food without breaking the bank. This Winterlicious I had a chance to try out a few different places, Lolo Restaurant and George Brown College’s The Chefs’ House. I always walked by Lolo restaurant on my way to Sporting Life store on Yonge street and wondered how the … Continue reading Lolo Restaurant…FoodbySaje

Every year I try to make it down to the National Women’s Show at the Toronto Metro Convention center to checkout all the new product that are either not available in Ontario or they are not out in the market yet. What I like about this 3 day event is the broad range of product being introduced at the show and in some cases being sold about a fraction of the price. I attend the show to learn about new beauty products and of course all the yummy food.
National Women’s Show is the best place to be for any one, not just women. Who wouldn’t want to learn about new health and fitness products; do some research for future travels (maybe even enter to win a few!) then stop by to sample amazing food products and buy some to take home. After that a quick stop at any of the many beauty booths to learn about new products available to have beautiful hair and skin. Touch up on the makeup and do a glam photo shoot for your very own Chatelaine magazine cover, thanks to the Rogers company.
Take some time and enjoy a 20 min massage from a professional RMT, then take part to break the Guinness World record for the largest number of people applying lipstick (FYI, that’s 320 ppl!). There are so many more services and products available at the show to mention. I think of it as a one stop shop, a very BIG shop! Continue reading “Day Of Fun @ National Women’s Show”
