White Homes

 

I have always loved all things white when it came to decorating and home design. Watching home design TV shows, and looking through magazines and books I always gravitated towards the light, bright and airy feel of white spaces. Playing with textures and layers of white to create a homey and warm living space, pops of colour here and there and you end up with a beautiful result. One of my favourite tools to use for finding and sorting my inspirations is Pinterest. Lucky for me I’ll be moving homes in a few months and all those pins in my home board is going to come handy. 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Fender Edition

 

During the Canadian International Autoshow I checked out the Beetle Fender edition and learn more about the collaboration between Volkswagen and Fender. The Beetle Fender inspired by the curves and styling of a classic Fender guitar; from the sunburst dashboard to the magnificent Fender Premium sound system, 18″ disc alloy wheels, black Uni and deep black pearl (exclusive to the Beetle Fender) and many more little upgrades. Volkswagen is the only automaker that offers the Fender Premium Audio System with eight speakers, a subwoofer, and a 400-watt amplifier. This is as close as anyone can get to a live sounding audio system on the road.

For the last few years I have visited the Canadian International Autoshow and I’ve been amazed about how fast the technology evolves from one year to the next. My favorite part of the CIAS is checking out the new lineups and the concept cars. It’s great to see how far imagination, design and innovation can go to bring one of a kind automobiles to life. Volkswagen Digital Media Day

On Friday I attended the very first Volkswagen Digital Media Day at the Canadian International AutoShow. I have a total soft spot for the VW brand thanks to my Baby Jetta and I was very excited to learn about the 2013 lineup and other new and exciting things happening with Volkswagen. We were greeted by Peter Blackwell Director of Marketing for VW Canada and VW product Planners, ready to answer all our questions. The event was packed with exciting news about addition of new cars to the 2013 lineup, turbocharge and hybrid engines and so much more. It was exciting to be one of the first few people to see the TV commercials for the Jetta Turbocharged Hybrid.

Grace Eunmi Lee & Her Ceramic Creatures

Once in a while I find interesting artists at the One of a Kind Show and I think Grace Eunmi Lee is the one from this installment of One of a Kind Show. Her ceramic art is a beautiful representation of all those small things we disregard everyday. The micro-organisms and microscopic creatures living around us, in the air, water and so forth. Grace is using her art to bring attention to these little details of our world. Fun Finds at One of a Kind Show

 

Now that I’m all inspired for the gift giving season ahead, I’m off to shop at the One of a Kind Christmas 2012 Show . This year my shopping buddy and I decide to try something new, visit our favorite booths first and pickup our must haves and then spend a fun, relax afternoon to just wander around the show and discover new artists and items. Over the years we both have learned that if you don’t buy it when you see it, you wont find it again! I have been a victim of “we sold out!” way too often at the OOAK…So here we go….

One of a Kind Show Christmas 2012

For the last couple of years I have been lucky enough to slice out some time to attend the One of a Kind Christmas shows. It is an amazing feeling to celebrate Canadian artists and brands from all over Canada, bringing together under one roof for almost 2 weeks of shopping frenzy. Customers are always excited to see new products from new and returning artists or find more of their favorite goods from previous years. It’s truly a fun show to attend and I promise that you would not leave empty-handed. Just to get everyone excited for the Christmas shopping season…some inspiration right off the bat with the beautiful Christmas displays and massive One of a Kind tree!
