What is the first picture that pops in your head when you hear the word “Cactus”? If you guys are like me, you picture little colourful pots with tiny needle covered plants in them. I’m talking IKEA decorative pots with cute little cactuses in them for people who lack the green thumb. After visiting the cactus park in Balboa Park I was shocked how MASSIVE these little cute plants become in their natural habitat. Something that fits in the palm of my hand is now as big as a tire. Cactus trees that are so big that they have a more wood like trunks. I’m not sure why I was so shocked by seeing these giant cactuses but it completely blew my mind.

How cool is this cactus tree. It’s amazing how “tree like” the trunk looks as the cactus plant gets bigger and bigger.

Look at this awesome tree, it looks like a single human pod with sitting area. If this tree wasn’t filled with bugs and so dirty I would’ve went in and took a selfie while sitting inside the tree.
