From Paddington Bear to Top Gear

Being a fan of British anything I recently came across an interesting fact about two of my favorite Brit things, Paddington toy bear and Jeremy Clarkson, journalist and host of Top Gear.

The first Paddington Bear was created by Gabrielle Designs in 1972, a small business run by Shirley and Eddie Clarkson, with the prototype made as a Christmas present for their children Joanna and Jeremy Clarkson.

According to Clarkson’s bio, he’s parents couldn’t pay the fees for his school, but thanks to their home-made christmas gift to their children they managed to put both Jeremy and his sister in very good schools. But Clarkson was not the most well-behaved student though and eventually he was kicked out the Repton school for smoking and drinking and making a fool out of himself. I guess not that much has changed since he was younger!

I just thought that was a weird connection between these two things and worth sharing!
