On Friday I attended the very first Volkswagen Digital Media Day at the Canadian International AutoShow. I have a total soft spot for the VW brand thanks to my Baby Jetta and I was very excited to learn about the 2013 lineup and other new and exciting things happening with Volkswagen. We were greeted by Peter Blackwell Director of Marketing for VW Canada and VW product Planners, ready to answer all our questions. The event was packed with exciting news about addition of new cars to the 2013 lineup, turbocharge and hybrid engines and so much more. It was exciting to be one of the first few people to see the TV commercials for the Jetta Turbocharged Hybrid.

These past few weeks my life has been filled with car problems and frequent visits and phone calls to my local VW service center. Finally I had to drop off my baby Jetta at the mothership for some R&R, needing some love from professionals.
While my car was at the shop, my VW connection hooked me up with a sweet sweet 2012 Golf. I only had driven a Golf once before at the VW Freedriving day and I was super excited to drive a brand spanking new one for a few days.
After I got over the initial issues with the car (combination of a Sportline 2.5 litter engine and its torque and my car sickness problems! Haha) I loved driving it so much that I felt like I was cheating on my car with a younger and faster car. Continue reading “2012 VW Golf 2.5”
Remember few months back there was a VW Jetta GLI commercial that was made using both a motion and a long exposure stills camera? Well, the good people at VW used the pictures from this innovative commercial and came up with a fun social experiment called the “VW Art Heist”. Lets just say some lucky “heisters” from Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal got to take home … Continue reading Going On A Heist, A VW Art Heist
I love how the weather in Toronto is all over the place. I don’t love the sucky-ness of it, just that it changes a lot. It provides me with lots of interesting photo opportunities. The view from my place changes from blue and green to gloomy and gray in the matter of minutes. TAKE COVER!!!!!! Freaky, eh!? On a brighter note, after 8 years of … Continue reading THUNDER!!!!!
After weeks of waiting the VW Freedriving Tour day came around. I felt like a teenage boy who finally got his full drivers permit and was getting schooled on the art of driving from one of the Top Gear guys. Yes, I’m a girl who loves cars and follows Top Gear, so what? 😉
After signing in and getting my track pass all setup, I took a little time to just watch other people go through their tests first, so I can figure out the course. I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be able to read one particular sign…
Here is a video of what I was watching, I’m not the best videographer, sorry!
After watching other people have all the fun, it was my turn. check out how I did in the Tiguan, love the noise it makes when I’m flat on the floor…

Over the weekend I took part in VW Freedriving Tour in Toronto and I got a chance to take a closer look at the 2012 Beetle. Being a fan of VW cars, I always admired the Beetle but never though it would be a car I would drive. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cute car but it always looked too bumpy and too round to appeal to me. Now, I must confess, I actually really like this car. It’s not just a cute car anymore. It’s meaner, more powerful and it even has lost some weight! Continue reading “2012 Beetle – It’s A Beast Of A Car!”
Few weeks ago I got a surprise invitation from Volkswagen Canada to join them during their VW Freedriving Tour that’s being held this weekend (July 22-24) in Toronto. Being a big fan of VW cars (ehumm…I LOVE my baby Jetta!!) I am super excited to get a chance to test the 2011 VW cars in a crazy closed course. Now here is a short video … Continue reading Volkswagen Freedriving Tour
