The London Fashion Week wrapped up a few days ago, showcasing the amazing talents of both established and up-and-coming designers. I haven’t managed to look through a lot of the shows, but have been skimming through various websites and blogs for the highlights of the week.
I much prefer the ready-to-wear (or “pret-a-porter”) shows than to the haute couture shows. I appreciate the haute couture shows for what they are and how they portray the designer’s skill and artistry but otherwise, I like fashion shows that portray the “wearability” of clothes.
Burberry Prorsum RTW Fall 2010 is certainly one of my favorite collections for this year. The outerwear is to die for. The collection had a certain “cool girl” vibe to it – the girl who looks interesting and sexy without looking like she tried too hard. I can picture myself wearing one of the gorgeous shearling aviator jackets with skinny jeans and rock-star boots. 🙂 Besides, the shearling would be absolutely perfect for the freezing Toronto weather. I love what Christopher Bailey is doing at Burberry – every season the clothes get better and better.
BTW, did you know that “prorsum” meant “forward” in Latin? I got curious as to the meaning of the word and looked it up.
