OK everyone, you know how we are in recession and not everyone might have a job or working that much. Keep that image and add the fact that I haven’t worked for a week (no income) and its almost end of the month (bills coming in!) and oh plans to go on a a 10 day long vacation in the following week. You got that image in your head?
Yeah, it’s a little bit of panic of what if I run out of money while I’m gone and the excitement that you know even during shitty recession times you still have the luxury of being able to not for a week and still go on a long vacation. Now, picture checkign your bank account online and realizing some A-hole has withdrew all your money out of your bank account! Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit…. Yep, that was me at mid-night last night! I was feeling so violated and mad since my bank didn’t even bother to notify me when they saw someone withdrawing random amounts of money from my account!
Funny part of the story is I was the one who told the bank about the whole thing after calling them the next day and finding out that the IDIOT had went back and took the last $20 out of my account…Geez thanks!
So all I got from my bank after telling them that this was unacceptable and this has happened to me 6 times within the last year was, oh sorry!
I had to stay on the phone for 30 mins to see if they can give me some over draft since I have stuff like student loans that get taken out of my account at the end of each month. woop-de-doo!!!!! But for my vacation fund and well the rest of my money oh well, we call you in 10 days!!!! WTF! Ill be on my vacation by then and Ill be needing my money! In my innocence I asked the lady over the phone if she knew where my card was compromised and the answer i got threw me off completely, sorry we can’t tell you because of the privacy laws. Are YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! Someone invaded my privacy and took my money and now we’re protecting them??? The law seems messed up sometimes…
So lets just say I wasn’t very happy at all. What got me even more angry was that who ever took all my money used a bank machine other than my own bank so I had to pay service charge for every withdraw they made!!! How sad is that, I paid the fee to get my money stolen…
I just hope this mess gets sorted out before my vacation and I hope that whoever has taken my money dies a horrible death!!!

I had the same thing happen to me. I use a small town bank though and they told me as well as gave me a print out of all my account activity. The worst part for me was that I found out it was my own son who had taken my card and drained my account.

Dear Ann…I would be mortified if my kid does that to me and I find out about it from the bank!! He must of gotten to a lot of trouble..loland Dear Zizzybob, You're right, I should start saving my money under my mattress since it would be safe.
