Ontario and UFC??

  Today I joined a big group of UFC fans at the Toronto Eaton Center for a Q&A and autograph session with Dana White and 2 Canadian fighters, Sam Stout and Krzysztof Soszynski.    I must say for the location of the event and the fact that it was a free session I thought it was very well-organized. I managed to score a wristband in the lineup and get to meet both Sam and Krzysztof and take pictures with them after the Q&A session.  Dana took lots of questions from the fans about bringing the sport and it’s events to Ontario and he promised the fans that they are working hard to do just that. One of their main issues at the moment is how the laws in Ontario needs to change before any UFC can happen in this region. Yes, Dana needs to talk to the law makers.  Everyone was very excited about the idea of filling up Rogers Center for a great fight maybe between GSP and Anderson Silva! Mind Your Manners…

I happen to be at my neighborhood Boston Pizza watching the UFC fight with Eunji tonight when I saw something gross happen. A girl who was sitting at a table next to us got up went up to the bar and just grabbed a whole bunch of lime slices from behind the bar and came right back and ate them like nothing was happening!!!! There are two wrong, horrible things about this image. First, why the hell are you eating those lime slices. Didn’t your mother tell you that they are a pool of germs and filled with cooties???? Hep C means anything to you???? Second annoying thing about this was that, hello, why the hell are you going behind the frigging bar. It’s not your aunt’s house!!!! If you want to snack on frigging lime slices you skinny little dirty girl, frigging ask your waiter to give you some, don’t help yourself to it! After that, every time I ordered a drink I hopped that it wasnt accompanied by a slice of lime. Ugh. …

Women and UFC

Imagine a Saturday night like every other Saturday night walking to the neighbourhood sports bar with your best friend for a pitcher of cold beer and some hot bbq wings. Now fast-forward about an hour or so and all you see around you is half drunk men filled with excitement and screaming and shouting at the massive tv screens showing their favourite pay-per-view sports event, UFC; and you’re the only two women insight. Congratulations, you are a woman UFC fan. You are a myth, a gift from god to all men and a new breed of women who are not forced by their significant others to attend this event. My best friend and I are part of this small group of avid UFC fans. We have been lucky enough to attend a couple of these exciting fights in person and most guys who find out about this are both shocked and amused.
