Maison Margiela Replica collection

I’m not a huge fan of changing my perfumes. I wear the same couple of perfumes for years and I hardly venture out to try new ones. The last time I “changed it up” was when I was in Italy a few years back and I was introduced to Acqua dell’ Elba classic. I think this year is going to be another year for me to revamp the perfume department. I have found an entire line up of scents that I want to add to my beauty closet. Meet Maison Margiela Replica collection. The idea behind this collection is to trigger a memory in our brain using scents. The entire packaging and labeling for the bottles are all created around this idea. The first time I tried one of the Replica perfumes was when I came across the “Beach Walk” scent in the roller bottles. I love buying mini roller and spray bottles as they are small enough for carrying in purses and to take on vacations and if I end up not liking the scent …

Purity Made Simple – Philosophy

A  while back, I did a review on Philosophy’s moisturizer, Hope in a Jar, and promised that I would do a follow-up on Hope in a Jar and a review of the cleanser, Purity Made Simple, since I bought them together. (Click here for the review on Purity Made Simple). This foaming cleanser is meant to be used for all skin types but when I was at Sephora they recommended it to me because I have oily skin. Purity Made Simple “deeply cleanses, tones, and removes make-up” according to the label on the back but I still felt the need to use toner afterwards. However, it did do a pretty good job of removing my make-up. The things I liked most about this cleanser are the “foaminess”, the clean scent and the packaging. I probably …

Beauty Essentials

I’m a total beauty product junkie – probably something else Solmaz and I have in common. I’m always buying new products from Sephora or Shoppers Drug Mart looking for the next “must-have” that will make my skin glow or just make me look plain ‘gorgeous’…lol. Having said that there are a few things that I have been using for years and years – products which are essential to my daily routine. I love both department store brands and drugstore brands – so I have a good mix of both that I use everyday. (Clockwise from top left) Benefit Get Even Powder: I have pretty oily skin so I need a powder that is controls oil and gives good coverage. This compact powder does the job without clumping or making me look too “done-up”. It comes in three shades of Light, Medium and Dark. I usually use Light in the winter and Medium in the summer. Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder: As you can see I’m quite a big fan of Benefit cosmetics, since not only are the products super effective, but …
