This is a picture of 1 of the many windows of Salvatore Ferragamo store in Florence. Positioned at the end of hall way and locked up behind an iron gate at nights. It’s super simple but so pretty. Italians make the simplest, most regular thing look spectacular. Can some one please send me back to Florence? Continue reading Does everything look better in Italy?
Whenever I’m away on vacation as a treat for myself I buy something that is strictly available within the region I’m traveling. While I was in Siena and walking up and down Via Banchi di Spora, I kept smelling this wonderful scent every time I walked by this mysteriously calm looking store named Acqua Dell’Elba. After awhile I realized that they spray a scent out on to the street and it smelled like clean fresh breeze and ocean. I couldn’t help but close my eyes and think of walking on a warm sandy beach. For years now I’ve been talking with my friends to go back to Italy where we all met for the first time during a university abroad program in a little town called Siena. After hearing about the launch of 500 by Gucci during the Milan Fashion Week, I think I have more reasons to make that trip sooner than later. I would love to give this car a try because the first family car related memories that I have is from our little red Fiat 128, another reason is that it would be fun to zip through all the narrow streets in Siena with the 500 and lets face it, this car is super stylish and adorable!
500 by Gucci is a collaboration between the Italian car maker and Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini to celebrate Gucci’s 90th anniversary. The 500 by Gucci will initially be available from April 1st to June 30th (in Italy), exclusively by pre-order online at www.500bygucci.com, starting from 17,000 euros or about $24,000. But if that’s a big price tag for a limited edition Fiat, you can buy one of the pieces from the exclusive 500 by Gucci collection: travel accessories, small leather goods, tracksuits, bombers, driving gloves, glasses and a watch for both men and women, available from April in select Gucci stores and online at www.gucci.com. I can’t wait to see the 500 in person whenever it hits the North American market, I think it would be a cool car to test out!
Here’s a little more information about the 500: Continue reading “Fiat 500 By Gucci”
Thanks to Winterlicious and my friend’s gift of picking great places to eat, I got a chance to experience a new way of dining. The Chefs’ House is a great teaching restaurant run by George Brown College Chef School. Having experienced the food that is made by the students from this school before at the One of a Kind Show, I was very interested to see this restaurant. During our lunch outing we decided to learn more about how the restaurant works by asking a few questions from Chefs’ House Dining Room Technologist, Scott McKenzie.
Mr. McKenzie explained to us that every single person who works at the restaurant is a student at the George Brown College and studying to receive their degree in food and beverage management, hospitality, tourism or just studying to become a chef. All students have to work at The Chefs’ House once a week for 14 weeks to learn and gain more experience in their desired fields.
I loved going to this restaurant, a great modern dining experience with a Hell’s Kitchen twist! All the students working hard and being professional while their instructors keeping an eye on them both in the kitchen and the main dining areas. Thinking about how my experience dining and eating at The Chefs’ House might affect someone’s chance to become a chef gives me an odd feeling. Exciting, but odd! I saw some awesome carry on luggage from Heys in a window of a store today and fell in love. They are adorable and I’m almost tempted to spend the $99 and get one of them. Continue reading “Wear Your Pride On Your Luggage”
I recently went a little family owned Italian restaurant on St Clair west, just west of Dufferin street, I totally fell in love with the charm and amazing staff and of course the food. I went to taste their set menu for the winterlicious and thought it was worth the $15 spent. One of the perks for this place is their complimentary plate of bruschetta … Continue reading La Bruschetta
