Grace Eunmi Lee & Her Ceramic Creatures

Once in a while I find interesting artists at the One of a Kind Show and I think Grace Eunmi Lee is the one from this installment of One of a Kind Show. Her ceramic art is a beautiful representation of all those small things we disregard everyday. The micro-organisms and microscopic creatures living around us, in the air, water and so forth. Grace is using her art to bring attention to these little details of our world. Fun Finds at One of a Kind Show

 

Now that I’m all inspired for the gift giving season ahead, I’m off to shop at the One of a Kind Christmas 2012 Show . This year my shopping buddy and I decide to try something new, visit our favorite booths first and pickup our must haves and then spend a fun, relax afternoon to just wander around the show and discover new artists and items. Over the years we both have learned that if you don’t buy it when you see it, you wont find it again! I have been a victim of “we sold out!” way too often at the OOAK…So here we go….

One of a Kind Show Christmas 2012

For the last couple of years I have been lucky enough to slice out some time to attend the One of a Kind Christmas shows. It is an amazing feeling to celebrate Canadian artists and brands from all over Canada, bringing together under one roof for almost 2 weeks of shopping frenzy. Customers are always excited to see new products from new and returning artists or find more of their favorite goods from previous years. It’s truly a fun show to attend and I promise that you would not leave empty-handed. Just to get everyone excited for the Christmas shopping season…some inspiration right off the bat with the beautiful Christmas displays and massive One of a Kind tree!

Volkswagen Freedriving Tour 2012

It’s that time of the year again when Volkswagen Canada invites all VW fans to join them on a weekend of fun to celebrate and to test out the German engineering and design of their beloved cars. VW Freedriving Tour is every car lovers dream experience; closed course, lots of twists and turns and guidance of a professional instructor. I had an amazing time last year at the event and I had to go back and test out the 2012 lineup. This year’s event is even more special since it’s Volkswagen’s 60th year anniversary in Canada annnnnd I have waited for a year to get to drive the 2012 Beetle. 2012 VW Golf 2.5

These past few weeks my life has been filled with car problems and frequent visits and phone calls to my local VW service center. Finally I had to drop off my baby Jetta at the mothership for some R&R, needing some love from professionals.

While my car was at the shop, my VW connection hooked me up with a sweet sweet 2012 Golf. I only had driven a Golf once before at the VW Freedriving day and I was super excited to drive a brand spanking new one for a few days.
After I got over the initial issues with the car (combination of a Sportline 2.5 litter engine and its torque and my car sickness problems! Haha) I loved driving it so much that I felt like I was cheating on my car with a younger and faster car. Continue reading “2012 VW Golf 2.5”
