The Rude Boy

Over this past weekend with the beautiful weather we were having I decided to come down with a cold. Being as stubborn as I am and not wanting to stay in and have a sick day, I ventured out to get some fresh air and of course some healthy food to help me fight the cold. After going for a walk around Kensington market, it was time to find some food and rest up. I ended up in the west-end of Toronto and in Roncesvalles to get my burger on at The Rude Boy. Located at 397 Roncesvalles Ave., The Rude Boy is a hidden gem between new eateries popping up in the area.

No long weekend is fully appreciated without trying out a new local beer. Lucky for me they had Conductor Craft Ale from the Junction Brewery and of course I had to try it!!! I’m not very “worldly” when it comes to beers and such but I enjoyed the slight bitterness I got from this little guy. It was a great treat on a nice sunny day.

Now, the menu…..

The CONTENDER is the choice of the day from the menu….we were sold after we saw “tongue pastrami” and “always a double”. This burger was a giant piece of work but it was surprisingly easy to eat. I always give extra point to burgers when they can keep their shape. Not sure what type of bread the chef is using but it was holding it together perfectly.

The burger was great…and the tongue pastrami tasted just wonderful. I spot another dish on the menu with the tongue pastrami and I think next time I’m in the area I must have it. The JAGGER, smoked beef tongue pastrami, ballpark mustard, Roncesvalles rye bread….. sounds delicious…

As you can see, I was a happy camper after my lunch and felt even better after my burger. What can I say, The Rude Boy knew exactly how to make me feel better…..
