Toronto LGFW SS2011 – Day 1

Today was the first official day of Toronto LG Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2011. Being a newbie at this whole fashion week business, I was super excited to attend all the shows and get as many pictures as I could. Lucky for me I managed to score a few front row sits for the first few shows and I that just made it all so much sweeter. Here is the list of shows I attended on: Day 1: Jules Power show had a great young vibe to it. I will for sure check out her store within the next week to try out her designs.   OR by Angela Chen‘s collection was AMAZING! I never heard of her work till I received the LGFW schedule few weeks back. I’m glad I got to see her work in person. It made me think of summer vacations at the beach. Toronto Receives The British Invasion With Open Arms

On October 14th and 15th, The Bay held a two-day welcoming party to a group of talented British contemporary fashion designers Charlotte Olympia Dellal, Giles Deacon, Mark Fast, Erdem Moralioglu, Jonathan Saunders, Marios Schwab, and Nicholas Kirkwood. The first day of the “God Save the Queen” event started with an invite only gala held at The Room, which was transformed into a fashion gallery showcasing each designers work. The attendees at the event included socialites, fashion industry’s who’s who and media. Interestingly, two of the “British” designers are in fact, Canadian, but they are based out of London. Designers Erdem Moralioglu and Mark Fast are two of the best examples of Canadian talent and I am glad that they are so well-known globally for their designs.
