Jeanne Beker – EDIT Holiday 2010

This past Thursday I attend the preview for EDIT’s Holiday pieces. Jeanne Beker of Fashion Television was present at the Queen st. location of The Bay to introduce the new pieces to media, fashion lovers, friends and family. The night started with the president and CEO of The Bay and a close friend of Jeanne, Bonnie Brooks, welcoming the guests and introducing the guest of honor, Jeanne Beker. Ms. Beker shared few of her memories of being in the fashion industry and how her collaboration with The Bay gave birth to EDIT. During her presentation she was so excited to share the new designs with all women, specially women in their 30s and up, the simple ways of introducing pieces from the EDIT collection to any wardrobe thanks to its neutral colors (black, gray, white and pops of red). God Save the Queen Event – Designer Panel and Trunk Show

Solmaz attended the God Save the Queen Gala (click here for the post) and I attended the designer panel discussion and trunk show the next day at The Room at The Bay Queen Street Store. Unfortunately because of ever-present traffic on the highways, I was a bit delayed in reaching The Bay so I ended up being a little late to the event. (Sorry everyone…) When I reached The Room the designer panel was well underway with the British designers and Leith Clark, the editor-in-chief of Lula Magazine. The discussion was focused on London Fashion and how they were influenced the city.

L’Wren Scott SS2011 @ The Room

Thanks to The Bay’s The Room now Canadian fashion lovers are able to purchase their favorite pieces from one of the most sought-after designer/stylist in the business, L’Wren Scott. This week I attend an intimate gathering to meet L’Wren Scott and see her ss2011 collection at The Room. L’Wren Scott started her career in fashion at a very young age sewing clothes for herself. Being talented and very tall (she’s know for her height of 6’4″) she scored her first modeling job with Chanel and moved to Paris. After modeling for years, she realized her love for the art of designing and styling. L’Wren eventually moved to LA and became a stylist and a costume designer for movies and in 2006 she started the brand L’Wren Scott with her “Little Black Dress” collection. Spring/Summer 2011 collection is all about great silhouettes and lots of sequins, beads and color! I don’t remember seeing many collections that offered pieces from Black all the way to the blues, greens, red, yellows and white. It’s going to be all …
