The Chefs’ House…FoodbySaje

Thanks to Winterlicious and my friend’s gift of picking great places to eat, I got a chance to experience a new way of dining. The Chefs’ House is a great teaching restaurant run by George Brown College Chef School. Having experienced the food that is made by the students from this school before at the One of a Kind Show, I was very interested to see this restaurant. During our lunch outing we decided to learn more about how the restaurant works by asking a few questions from Chefs’ House Dining Room Technologist, Scott McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie explained to us that every single person who works at the restaurant is a student at the George Brown College and studying to receive their degree in food and beverage management, hospitality, tourism or just studying to become a chef. All students have to work at The Chefs’ House once a week for 14 weeks to learn and gain more experience in their desired fields. I loved going to this restaurant, a great modern dining experience with a …

Lolo Restaurant…FoodbySaje

I love Winter/Summerlicious time in Toronto. Gives everyone a chance to find new restaurants and sample their great food without breaking the bank. This Winterlicious I had a chance to try out a few different places, Lolo Restaurant and George Brown College’s The Chefs’ House. I always walked by Lolo restaurant on my way to Sporting Life store on Yonge street and wondered how the food was, they were always busy no matter what time of the day it was. So when I realised they were part of Winterlicious I was very excited to give them a try. To my joy, they did not disappoint my friends & I with their Mediterranean-inspired classics. After visiting them for the first, my friends and I loved the food so much that before the night was over we made a 2nd reservation for the next day so we can go back and sample more of the menu before the winterlicious menu was over. All in all I enjoyed my experience at the Lolo Restaurant, great food thanks to …

One Of A Kind Show

Thanks to Susan Tyndall of O Live PR, I was invited for the media breakfast at this year’s One Of A Kind Show. The breakfast for this event was prepared by students at George Brown College Chef School. On the menu, Scottish eggs, cornflake crusted french toast and fresh fruit salads to just name a few. I loved the breakfast because it was freshly made and presented in a beautiful way and according to other media members “it’s the best media breakfast event”. I agree with them! If you guys have never been to the One Of A Kind Show, I absolutely recommend it. There are booths after booths of talented Canadian artists displaying and selling their beautiful handmade products. It’s the best place to go to find those little special pieces for you or your loved ones. I even loved walking around at the show because of all the beautiful displays I found it a very happy and visually stimulating environment. Tomorrow I’m going back to the show to revisit my favorite booths. Can’t …
