LGFW SS2012 VAWK, a set on Flickr. VAWK is a Canadian luxury brand that has been met with fanfare and acclaim. Reputed for its quality and exclusiveness, it designs, produces, and distributes luxury goods for sophisticated and discerning women. Launched in 2004 by Sunny Fong, the label has developed distinction for its strong and feminine silhouettes and masterful tailoring. He presented his first collection at Toronto Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2005. In 2009 Fong garnered national prominence after winning season two of Project Runway Canada with his Alexander the Great-themed finale collection. His designs have walked red carpets around the world, including the Cannes International Film Festival and The Grammy Awards.
Today Canadian fashion designer Sunny Fong took us on a journey to Africa and Spain with his SS2011 collection for VAWK; inspired by his virtual tour of these amazing countries. The Toro Safari collection was a beautiful marriage between soft flowy feminine fabrics and buttery leather in shades of gold, cream and sand, mixed with dark animal prints and an amazing single pop of fuschia and purple for the strapless knotted fringe dress. The runway was set in VAWK’s favorite Toronto location at AGO’s Walker court. I really enjoyed the show and hopefully I get to see this collection at The Room and other retailers. Congratulations to Sunny and Ben! Here are some of the favorite looks from the show
Hi everyone, I’ll be attending the Spring/Summer 2011 runway show for VAWK by Sunny Fong at the AGO today. I’m very excited about this runway since I’ve been a big fan of Sunny’s work since the Project Runway Canada contest. I can’t believe I get to watch his show in person. For all of you who are a fan of Sunny’s work please tune in at 1pm on his website, VAWK Collection, to watch the live streaming of the show! sa UPDATE: For photos of the show read our post @VAWK SS2011.
