Day Of Fun @ National Women’s Show

Every year I try to make it down to the National Women’s Show at the Toronto Metro Convention center to checkout all the new product that are either not available in Ontario or they are not out in the market yet. What I like about this 3 day event is the broad range of product being introduced at the show and in some cases being sold about a fraction of the price. I attend the show to learn about new beauty products and of course all the yummy food. National Women’s Show is the best place to be for any one, not just women. Who wouldn’t want to learn about new health and fitness products; do some research for future travels (maybe even enter to win a few!) then stop by to sample amazing food products and buy some to take home. After that a quick stop at any of the many beauty booths to learn about new products available to have beautiful hair and skin. Touch up on the makeup and do a glam …

@VAWK – Toro Safari SS2011

Today Canadian fashion designer Sunny Fong took us on a journey to Africa and Spain with his SS2011 collection for VAWK; inspired by his virtual tour of these amazing countries. The Toro Safari collection was a beautiful marriage between soft flowy feminine fabrics and buttery leather in shades of gold, cream and sand, mixed with dark animal prints and an amazing single pop of fuschia and purple for the strapless knotted fringe dress. The runway was set in VAWK’s favorite Toronto location at AGO’s Walker court. I really enjoyed the show and hopefully I get to see this collection at The Room and other retailers. I’m a total beauty product junkie – probably something else Solmaz and I have in common. I’m always buying new products from Sephora or Shoppers Drug Mart looking for the next “must-have” that will make my skin glow or just make me look plain ‘gorgeous’…lol. Having said that there are a few things that I have been using for years and years – products which are essential to my daily routine. I love both department store brands and drugstore brands – so I have a good mix of both that I use everyday. (Clockwise from top left) Benefit Get Even Powder: I have pretty oily skin so I need a powder that is controls oil and gives good coverage. This compact powder does the job without clumping or making me look too “done-up”. It comes in three shades of Light, Medium and Dark. I usually use Light in the winter and Medium in the summer.
