I bought a collection of bookmarks from abstract painter Stephen Gillberry at the One of a Kind Show and I’m planning BIG things with them. They are colorful, textured and I love them! Mr. Gillberry was quite entertained by my plans with his abstract bookmarks. He told me he is almost certain that I have the biggest collection of bookmarks anywhere. haha All I have … Continue reading Bookmarks As Art…. #OOAKX11
I found a great, unique art piece to add to my home. Framed oxidized tin tiles from TinHouse Designs are amazing. Tyler Kilkenny the artist behind these amazing pieces has brought together history, texture, beauty and uniqueness all in one place. They are so many sizes, designs and colors to these tiles, it was so hard for me to pick just one from many many … Continue reading Tin House Designs #OOAKX11
Last week I took a day to visit the Christmas edition of One of a Kind Show and I went a bit food crazy! Once in a while I find interesting artists at the One of a Kind Show and I think Grace Eunmi Lee is the one from this installment of One of a Kind Show. Her ceramic art is a beautiful representation of all those small things we disregard everyday. The micro-organisms and microscopic creatures living around us, in the air, water and so forth. Grace is using her art to bring attention to these little details of our world. I love her little microscopic creations, they are weird and strange-looking and it just amazing to look at each one of them. Continue reading “Grace Eunmi Lee & Her Ceramic Creatures”
Now that I’m all inspired for the gift giving season ahead, I’m off to shop at the One of a Kind Christmas 2012 Show . This year my shopping buddy and I decide to try something new, visit our favorite booths first and pickup our must haves and then spend a fun, relax afternoon to just wander around the show and discover new artists and items. Over the years we both have learned that if you don’t buy it when you see it, you wont find it again! I have been a victim of “we sold out!” way too often at the OOAK…So here we go….
For the last couple of years I have been lucky enough to slice out some time to attend the One of a Kind Christmas shows. It is an amazing feeling to celebrate Canadian artists and brands from all over Canada, bringing together under one roof for almost 2 weeks of shopping frenzy. Customers are always excited to see new products from new and returning artists or find more of their favorite goods from previous years. It’s truly a fun show to attend and I promise that you would not leave empty-handed. Just to get everyone excited for the Christmas shopping season…some inspiration right off the bat with the beautiful Christmas displays and massive One of a Kind tree!
Thanks to Susan Tyndall of O Live PR, I was invited for the media breakfast at this year’s One Of A Kind Show. The breakfast for this event was prepared by students at George Brown College Chef School. On the menu, Scottish eggs, cornflake crusted french toast and fresh fruit salads to just name a few. I loved the breakfast because it was freshly made … Continue reading One Of A Kind Show
