Been a couple of weeks since I got back from much needed few days off and away at the newly renovated TRS Yucatan Hotel in Mayan Riviera. The resort is part of a bigger complex ran by Grand Palladium. Beautiful rooms, great service, food was great and the pool area was peaceful and kid free!
The resort smells and looks great and is constantly being cleaned and maintained. As you walk in to the lobby you are whisked away by friendly receptionists to get checked in and quickly shuttled off to the room to start your vacation.
The rooms are absolutely beautiful and modern looking with all sorts of amenities including a smart system controlled from your TV. I think this was one of the only few times I stayed at a hotel/resort that the pictures of the rooms online actually matched what I got in real life. One of many perks at the resort is access to your very own personal butler to deal with every little need from booking dinner reservations to finding out which shows to attend and anything else that you might need during your stay. I loved Alejandra and Valerie the butlers on duty during my stay. They were fantastic!!
One of the things I absolutely recommend booking is tickets to the Chic Cabaret Show. Take care of this as you are checking in as this show is popular, AMAZING and with limited number of tickets!
Part of the attraction for adults only resorts for me is that the peace is maintained at all times. No kids playing tag by the pool or waking you up from your midday slumber by the pool. I love kids but love them tucked away in the neighbouring resorts where I can’t hear or see them.
I really enjoyed the breakfast service at Helios since everything was served in smaller portions and in pretty little dishes. The bigger buffet at the main lobby area was great too but Helios was very close to us and conviniently between our room and the pool.
Luckily we skipped the major winter storm of April in Toronto and enjoyed some sun down in Mexico but we did have a rainy day on the weekend. We decided to checkout the flamingo habitat in neighbouring Grand Palladium Kantenah during the day and catch the Chic Cabaret at night. Another tip beside booking your show tickets early on is when you attend the show and are checking in with the hostesses to ask for a table closer to the stage as they will pretty much pick and choose where to seat you and its very hard to switch spots. So if you want a table closer to the stage or exit doors or etc tell them as you are being checked in!
Checkout the video I posted at the end of this entry to see a little bit of the show.
Another great bonus to this hotel is the number of different pools available. TRS guests have access to 3 pools on the resort and many more pools at the other 3 resorts in the complex. Of course the beach is available as well by taking a quick walk. I enjoy sitting by the main pool at TRS since it was super quite and spent most of my time there while trying to get some tan.
There are a lot of activities in and around the resort to participate in as well if you’re not the sitting around cooking under the sun type. Some are free of charge like biking and canoeing or registering with the tour operators (Sunwings, Air Transat and such) for a fee to checkout some of the more touristy areas like Tulum.
Now, here is a little video I put together from the trip… Let me know if you have been to any of the TRS resorts before and how was your experience…
