I have been keeping an eye on these awesome globes from Geo-grafia for a while now and I finally gave in and bought one from my local bookstore. Designed by Yusuke Hayashi and Yoko Yasunishi of Drill Design; it is amazing to see the level of detail and thought that has gone to making these globes. Being a fan of traveling and geography I chose to go with the BLANK globe so I can have a visual journal of all the places I have been. There are so many other kinds of globes, glow in the dark and material (wood, metal and leather!).

I’ve lived in Canada for the past 13 years and I’m ashamed to say I have not made the effort to learn more about my new home. I have been in my bubble in Toronto and ignored the rest of this amazing country, until now.

I’ve taken a lot of roadtrips across Ontario and it is beautiful. All I see is lush green and beautiful bodies of water everywhere. I was so inspired that I decided to learn more about my country and I was SHOCKED when I realized really how little I knew. Do you know where Magdalen Islands is? Did you even know that it existed???? I just found out about it a couple of months ago!

Who doesn’t wanna walk on that beach

How about Fogo Island, I had no idea where that one was either! So to get to know Canada a little better I’ve done a lot of reading online and been following Canada Tourism twitter account (@Keep_exploring) and their 19 guest bloggers that are traveling across Canada. There’s so much to see, so many hidden treasures across Canada and I want to learn about all of them. So I need your help to find these hidden treasures, where is your favorite Canadian spot you have visited? Teach me about my country….

Keukenhof Park in Lisse is one of Holland’s tourists attractions, bringing in all nature and flower lovers from all over the world. During our visit to the park not all the flowers were in bloom but what was there was beautiful. Colorful carpets of flowers everywhere and people walking around enjoying a great day outside. Even though most people say “a park is a park”, I still posted some of the pictures here for those grey rainy days. Continue Reading

That is CitizenM hotel’s mission statement to their guests. Free wi-fi, free movies on demand, great use of space, XL king size beds and many many other amenities are all here. I stayed at the CitizenM Schiphol during my trip to Amsterdam and I thought they delivered all that they said they would. Check in/out of this hotel is as quick as self check-in for your flight, and if there’s a problem, there’s a friendly face right there to help you and answer your questions. Continue Reading

After climbing the stairs at the Cologne Cathedral we all had worked up an appetite and we decided to finish our day by checking out Bona’me by Rhine river. A restaurant and lounge catering to your Turkish/Middle Eastern food cravings; Bona’me has combined great food, great price and modern decorations perfectly. Bona’me uses the “swipe your card as you order” system. It’s a convenient system since there’s no waiting time to get waited on and each person can walk up to a cooking station and personally order their own food in any way they want. It’s great, just don’t lose your card like I did at Vapiano, a similar style restaurant we visited during our trip.

Cologne Cathedral is a must see for anyone visiting Cologne, it’s see humbling to look at a monster of building and learn about its’ past and how it took almost 700 yrs to finish. This Gothic style building watches over all the other buildings since 1248 and I can’t even imagine the things it has witnessed and survived during all these years. We decided to take a look inside and eventually get ready to climb the 533 steps all the way up to the viewing platform (322 ft) above the ground to take a better view of the city. Continue Reading

On our way from Belgium to Germany, we made a quick stop in Luxembourg. A small tiny country but beautiful, clean and quite. The perfect resting place during a road trip to grab a quick-lunch and take a nice afternoon walk around the narrow roads up and down the hills overlooking the old fort. It’s amazing how much of the old city walls are still around. Looking over the cliffs and down to the river made me a bit nervous and at the same time made me think about how the fortress looked back in the days.

My second stop on my Euro trip is Brussels, Belgium. I was very excited to explore Brussels and see Grand Place in person. Well, I did! Even though 24hrs is not enough time to judge a city I never been to before, I was a bit disappointed of Brussels. We were all disappointed. There’s so much potential for Brussels to be a great tourist destination but unfortunately it’s not. The city needs a good scrub down to clean all the caked down dust and dirt that has covered all the beautiful architecture since the beginning of time….. But I want to show you guys the few good parts about our day in Brussels, so keep reading. Continue Reading
