After watching the videos for Lanvin’s Spring/Summer 2011 and drooling over all the ads for the brightly colored maxi skirt I decided I should give the maxi skirt a try.

Knowing fully well that I can’t afford the Lanvin one I decided to hunt down the perfect maxi skirt available in my price range or somewhere close to it. To be honest I still feel I’m about 30cm too short to wear a maxi skirt confidently, but I’m brave enough to give it a try. Here are a couple of skirts that I found and I think they do the job for POP of color, fit and budget.
Here is the Lanvin skirt…

I’ve been meaning to post some outfit ideas and today seemed to be the day to give a shut since I love my outfit today! This is not the best photo and it’s my only picture of my outfit at 7am on the elevator to the parking lot. I got this H&M + Lanvin bowtie as part of my goodie bag last week at the launch party for the collection (Thnx H&M!), and I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to give it a try. What do you guys think, can I pull it off?

“What does luxury mean today? Can luxury be exclusive and democratic at the same time? How can we translate the essence of luxury to a wider audience? The world around us is changing rapidly and I find myself asking these questions more and more. The designer’s work is usually tailored to a very small group of people, but the collection for H&M was about trying to translate the dream of luxury to everyone. It was almost like going back to school for me.”- Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin
The wait is finally over, we saw the anticipated Lanvin+H&M collection, and we love it! The collaboration between the luxury designer and H&M was to bring the look of luxury to a mass audience and Elbaz has achieved that with interesting colorful designs. Bold floral patterns on mini dresses or one shoulder dresses with puff sleeves and a big ballerina dress fit for any party is just a few of our favorite pieces in the collection.
Here are some of our favorite pieces that wants us want to lineup at the H&M stores on November 20th! (Stores carrying this line will be open at 8am)
I’m not a big fan of faux-fur but this little vest has been in my mind since I saw it at the preview. I think I really have to lineup on Saturday morning for it and maybe a fun Parisian inspired T, and some fun accessories. I want it all!!!
The men’s collection designed by Lanvin’s men’s designer Lucas Ossendrijver, bringing the classic tuxedo look from night to day wear. I specially loved the white tuxedo jacket and the tailored jogging pants trimmed with grosgrain. Continue Reading
H&M finally outed who the mystery celebrity designer is, it’s Lanvin. How exciting is that. H&M has always brought affordable stylish clothes to the masses and it’s doing it again. I can’t wait till I get my hand on one of the pieces designed by Alber Elbaz. patiently waiting till November 23rd.
